Ronaldo A True Champion Writing New Pages In History – Xavi
Former Barcelona captain, Xavi Hernandez, has described Cristiano Ronaldo as a true champion who has really been writing new pages in history.
The 36 Years old, who told UEFA that although he had a couple of face-off with Ronaldo, described the Real Madrid forward as an incredible goal scorer.
“For Barça and Spain, I had many battles with Cristiano Ronaldo. He is an incredible goal scorer, a great player, a true champion who has really been writing new pages in history,” he said.
Xavi also tagged his inclusion in the Ultimate Team of the Year by UEFA.com as a “great source of pride”.
In spite of his great achievement, the Al-Sadd star was delighted and honoured to see himself making the list.
“We have Casillas, Ramos, Piqué, Puyol and Lahm as defenders; me, Iniesta and Gerrard in midfield; then Messi, Cristiano Ronaldo and Henry up front.
“This looks a great team and obviously I’ve played alongside all of them, apart from Lahm, Cristiano and Gerrard.
“It’s been a real pleasure to play with all these guys and of course it would have been just the same to line up alongside the other three,” he said.
